The article examines the possibility of using the NDVI index to determine
the extent of hail damage to agricultural crops. It presents modern monitoring methods utilizing satellite data and photographs from unmanned aerial vehicles.
The features of NDVI changes after hail damage are considered. The results
of an analysis of NDVI data before and after a hailstorm in the Krasnodar Territory in 2024 are presented. It is shown that NDVI effectively reflects the extent of plant damage and can be used for rapid damage assessment.
