Estimation of anthropogenic heat flux during the heating period in cities of the Russian Federation with a population of 300 to 500 thousand people. Frolkis V. A., Evsikov I. A. Proceedings of MGO. 2026. V. 621. P. 186–235.
Based on data from the open web mapping platform OpenStreetMap, the Yandex Maps website and the Housing and Utilities GIS server contour models
of the development of Russian cities with populations ranging from 300,000
to 500,000 people were constructed. The areas of enclosing structures and building volumes were calculated. Estimates of anthropogenic heat flux (AHF) during the heating period are given, depending on the difference between indoor and outdoor air temperatures and obtained on the assumption that urban buildings comply with building codes for the thermal properties of building envelopes. Three algorithms for calculating the AHF are considered. The first algorithm uses the concept of the base value of the required heat transfer resistance of the building envelope, the second uses the calculated value of the specific heat energy consumption for heating and ventilation of the building, and the third is based on the specific heat protection characteristics of the building. The AHF is assessed from the city territory within administrative boundaries and from urbanized territory, which is defined by multi-story buildings. Maps of the spatial distribution of the AHF density are provided. The average AHF density in the urbanized area is 15,5, 25,4, and 34,9 W/m2 for all algorithms, corresponding to emitted energy of 4,93, 8,01 and 11,4 PJ.
Keywords: anthropogenic heat flux, anthropogenic heat flux distribution maps, characteristics of the heating period, administrative and urbanized territory.
